Frequently Asked Questions
Camera Straps
How do I attach my camera strap (with and without an adapter)?
Attaching your new strap correctly is crucial for securing your gear! We have a complete, step-by-step guide on our blog that walks you through the entire process.
Please follow one of the links below for full instructions:
How do I know if I need an adapter for my Wildtree camera strap?
The easiest way is to check the size of your camera’s strap lug. If the opening is smaller than ⅜" (0.95 cm), you’ll need an adapter. Compact cameras, vintage bodies, and some mirrorless systems (like Fujifilm or Olympus) often require one. Larger lugs on most DSLRs (Canon, Nikon) and some Sony Alpha models fit the strap directly without an adapter. Get a full breakdown of camera compatibility and step-by-step visuals in our detailed guide. If you are still unsure, simply contact our support team with your camera model Hello@wildtreeoutdoor.com
Can I switch camera strap adapters later?
Yes! Both the Triangle Split Ring Adapter and the Quick Release Buckle Adapter can be added or swapped out at any time. This flexibility makes it easy to move from a vintage camera that needs a split ring to a modern DSLR that doesn’t, or to add quick-release functionality if you often switch between multiple cameras.
Are Wildtree camera straps vegan-friendly?
Yes, absolutely! All Wildtree camera straps are 100% vegan-friendly. We use high-quality, durable materials such as polyester webbing, ultra-soft faux suede backing, and synthetic leather ends in place of traditional leather. This allows us to provide a premium, long-lasting strap without using any animal products.
Do Wildtree camera straps work with binoculars?
Yes, absolutely! Our camera straps can be easily used with most binoculars, but you will likely need one of our strap adapters to connect the strap securely, unless your binocular's attachment point is ⅜" (0.95 cm) or bigger.
We recommend either of our available adapters.
- Triangle Split Ring Adapter: This metal ring attaches to the small lug (eyelet) on your binoculars, providing a secure, strong loop for the strap's connector.
- Quick Release Buckle Adapter: This adapter features a thin cord that loops through the small binocular lug and provides a quick-release male buckle for fast attachment/detachment.
What makes Wildtree camera straps different from others?
Wildtree camera straps offer a superior blend of comfort, style, and security, engineered to enhance any photography experience, whether you're on a multi-day trek or capturing moments around town. Our difference starts with superior comfort, featuring an ultra-soft faux suede backing that is gentle on your skin and protects your neck and shoulders from strain during long hikes and shooting sessions. For unique style, we offer a wide choice of outdoor-inspired patterns and solid colors so you can easily match your strap to your personal aesthetic, your clothing, or your specific gear. Regarding security and durability, our straps are built with premium, vegan-friendly materials, including thick, heavy-duty webbing and strong connection points guaranteed to reliably hold your heaviest camera gear while maintaining an overall lightweight feel.
How do I clean and care for my camera strap?
Wipe the strap down with a soft, damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap to remove dirt or dust from the printed fabric and the faux suede backing. Avoid machine washing or drying, and never soak or submerge the strap in water — this can damage the print and the backing over time. Let it air dry fully before storing.
Will this strap work with a point-and-shoot, vintage, or film camera — not just DSLRs and mirrorless?
Yes. The strap connects to any camera or binocular with a compatible attachment lug, and it works the same way whether the camera is a modern DSLR, a mirrorless body, a point-and-shoot, or an older film camera. The one thing to check is the size of the lug itself: our strap connects directly to lugs ⅜" (0.95 cm) or larger. Point-and-shoot, compact, and many vintage or film cameras often have smaller lugs, so you'll likely need one of our strap adapters to attach the strap securely.
How much weight can a Wildtree camera strap hold?
We don't publish a specific maximum weight rating, but the strap is built for heavier gear: thick polyester webbing, reinforced stitching, and strong connection points are designed to comfortably and securely hold the heaviest of camera bodies, including a DSLR or mirrorless body with a lens attached. If you're pairing it with an especially heavy setup (like a large telephoto lens) and want to double-check fit, feel free to reach out to us at Hello@wildtreeoutdoor.com.
Instrument Straps
Does my guitar need a headstock adapter?
You need one only if your guitar has a single strap button (on the bottom) and lacks one on the upper body.
The Wildtree Headstock Adapter is the ideal solution for this common situation, which primarily affects acoustic and classical guitars.
When to Use the Headstock Adapter
You should use this product if:
- You own an Acoustic or Classical Guitar that only has one strap button (pin), which is located at the tail-end of the body.
- You want to use a standard guitar strap to play while standing up.
Instead of drilling into the neck heel or relying on a temporary shoelace, the adapter provides a secure, durable, and stylish anchor point at the headstock (just above the nut).
When You Do Not Need the Headstock Adapter
- If your guitar (most electric guitars and some acoustics) already has two strap buttons on the body.
- If you only play your guitar while sitting down.
Key Benefit of the Headstock Adapter
Our headstock adapters are crafted from premium genuine leather, which is much stronger and more reliable than the thin cord or string often included with straps. It ensures reliable support without requiring any permanent modification (drilling) to your instrument.
Does my ukulele need a headstock adapter?
The short answer is: Yes, if your ukulele only has one strap button.
A headstock adapter is an accessory that creates a strong, secure attachment point at the headstock (the top of the neck) for your ukulele strap.
When You DO Need a Ukulele Headstock Adapter
You need this adapter if you want to play your ukulele while standing and your instrument has the most common setup:
- It has a single strap button (pin) located only on the bottom of the body (the tail-end).
- You want a more secure and attractive solution than using the thin piece of string or a shoelace that often comes with a ukulele strap.
When You DON'T Need a Ukulele Headstock Adapter
You can skip the adapter if any of the following are true:
- Your ukulele has two strap buttons. (Some newer or higher-end ukuleles come with a second button installed on the heel of the neck.)
- You use a "J-Hook" or "Uke Leash" style strap that hooks into the sound hole and doesn't require any buttons or headstock ties.
- You only play while sitting down.
Key Benefit of the Wildtree Ukulele Adapter
The Wildtree Ukulele headstock adapter is designed to be thinner than the corresponding guitar version. This is important because it fits cleanly underneath the strings on the smaller ukulele headstock. It also looks a lot better than using a shoestring.
What are Wildtree guitar straps and headstock adapters made from?
Our guitar straps are made from durable polyester webbing with real leather ends for a secure, long-lasting hold. The Headstock Adapter is crafted from genuine leather. Together they're built to comfortably support the weight of your instrument while standing, without stressing your guitar's finish or hardware.
Is the strap adjustable, and will the adapter fit my guitar?
Yes to both. Our guitar strap adjusts from 37" to 64" in total length and is 2" wide, so it fits players of any height. The Headstock Adapter is designed to fit around the headstock of most standard acoustic, classical, and electric guitars, giving you a secure anchor point at the neck without any drilling or permanent modification to your instrument.
Will this strap fit my ukulele size — soprano, concert, tenor, or baritone?
Our ukulele strap adjusts from 28" to 48" in total length and is 1.5" wide, sized specifically for soprano, concert, and tenor ukuleles. Baritone ukuleles are noticeably larger and closer to a guitar in scale, so if you play baritone, our guitar strap may be the better fit — feel free to reach out to Hello@wildtreeoutdoor.com if you're not sure which is right for your instrument.
What's the ukulele strap made of?
The strap is made from polyester webbing with real leather ends. The leather ends are what connect to your ukulele's strap buttons, so they're the only part in contact with your instrument's hardware.
How is a ukulele strap different from a guitar strap?
It's sized down to match the instrument. Our ukulele strap adjusts from 28" to 48" and is 1.5" wide, versus 37" to 64" and 2" wide for our guitar strap. Using the correctly sized strap keeps the fit comfortable and avoids extra bulk on a smaller instrument. If your ukulele doesn't have strap buttons, both the guitar and ukulele lines pair with the same Headstock Adapter accessory.
ID Badge Holders
How many cards does the badge holder fit?
The clear front window fits a card up to 4" tall for your work ID or access badge. The back has two more secure card slots with a snap button closure — each slot can actually hold more than one card, though we recommend no more than two per slot for the most secure fit. That's room for up to five cards total: your badge up front, plus up to two more tucked into each slot behind.
Is the badge holder RFID-blocking?
No, our badge holders are not RFID-blocking. They're made from premium synthetic leather with a clear plastic window and gold or silver hardware, but no RFID-blocking material. If that's a concern for a card you carry, we'd recommend pairing it with a dedicated RFID-blocking sleeve.
Does it work with my existing lanyard or keychain, or is one included?
The badge holder has a built-in attachment point that works with any of our neck lanyards or wristlet keychains. These are sold separately and aren't included with the badge holder itself.
Wristlet Keychains
What can I attach this keychain to, and how secure is the clasp?
It's designed to attach to anything with an attachment point — wallets, coin pouches, lightweight cameras, phones, and more. It clips on with a sturdy metal hook, and the wrist loop keeps it secure while you're carrying it.
What's the keychain made from?
Polyester with a PU leather trim and a bronze or black metal hook, weighing about 0.6 oz total. It's built for everyday carry — keys, bag friction, day-to-day handling.
Can I mix and match colors or designs?
Yes — each keychain is sold individually, whether it's one of our printed designs or a solid color, so you can pick exactly the ones you want and order as many as you'd like. They aren't pre-bundled into sets.
Stickers
Are these stickers waterproof and safe for water bottles, laptops, and car windows?
Yes. Each sticker is printed on durable 6 mil vinyl with a laminate layer that protects it from scratches, rain, and sunlight, so it holds up well on water bottles, laptops, car windows, and other everyday gear.
Are they removable without residue, or permanent once applied?
Our stickers use a strong adhesive designed for a long-lasting hold once applied, and we don't specifically test or promise clean, residue-free removal. If you think you might want to remove it later, we'd recommend applying it to a sturdy, non-porous surface like a water bottle or laptop lid.
What size are the stickers, and can I mix designs?
Size varies a bit by design — for example 2.14" x 3" or 3" x 3" depending on the artwork. Each sticker is sold individually and is die-cut and high-resolution printed, so you're free to mix and match whichever designs you like across separate orders.
Patches
Is this an iron-on patch, a sew-on patch, or both?
It can be applied either way — it's designed as an iron-on patch, but sewing it on is recommended, especially for anything that will see regular wear or washing, since stitching holds up longer than heat-adhesive alone.
What fabrics can it be safely applied to?
It's best suited to fabrics that can handle iron heat and a needle, like cotton canvas, denim, and most backpack or jacket material. Avoid delicate, heat-sensitive, leather, or synthetic surfaces that could be damaged by an iron — sewing it on is the safer option for those.
How durable is it — will it hold up to washing and outdoor use?
The patch is made from a woven polyester blend twill, a durable material built for regular outdoor wear. Because it's an iron-on/sew-on patch rather than a printed one, we recommend sewing it on for the most secure, long-term hold if it'll be going through the wash regularly.
Neck Lanyards
What can I attach to a Wildtree neck lanyard?
Our lanyards are compatible with anything that has an attachment point — ID holders, badges, wallets, coin pouches, phones, and more. Just clip it onto the item's loop, ring, or eyelet and you're set.
What's the lanyard made from?
A polyester strap with a PU leather end and a metal hook, available in bronze or black hardware depending on the design. It's built to hold up to daily use.
How long is the lanyard, and how much does it weigh?
The strap itself runs about 90 cm, with a total length (strap, leather end, and hook) of roughly 97.5 cm and a 2 cm strap width. It weighs about 0.7 oz. Sizing can vary slightly between production runs.
SD Card Holders
How many SD cards does this hold?
Each holder securely fits up to 6 standard SD cards (about 32mm x 24mm x 2.1mm). It also works with mini and micro SD cards as long as you use their standard-size adapters.
What's the card holder made from?
Durable polyester with a PU leather accent, a 10mm metal D-ring, and a snap button closure to keep everything secure inside.
How do I attach it to my bag or keys?
The D-ring clips onto anything with an attachment point — bags, keychains, lanyards, wallets, and more. Those are sold separately and aren't included with the card holder.
Quick Release Buckle Adapters
Do I need this adapter for my camera?
If your camera or binocular's strap lug or eyelet is smaller than ⅜" (0.95 cm), yes — you'll need an adapter to attach a standard Wildtree strap. It's especially common on compact point-and-shoots, mirrorless systems like Fujifilm, Sony Alpha, or Ricoh GR, and binoculars with narrow connection points.
How does the quick-release system work?
Thread the cord through your camera's eyelet, loop the buckle through, and you're ready to go. The secure buckle lets you detach your strap in seconds — handy for tripod work, swapping between a neck strap and a wrist strap, or tucking your camera into a tight bag.
What's included, and what size is it?
Each set includes 2 adapters. The cord runs about 5 cm (2"), the buckle adapter is about 2.5 cm (1"), for a total length around 7.5 cm (3").
Triangle Split Ring Adapters
Do I need this adapter for my camera?
If your camera's strap lug is smaller than ⅜" (0.95 cm), or it has a small eyelet or round lug that won't fit a standard strap end, yes. It's commonly needed for vintage film cameras, compact point-and-shoots, and mirrorless systems like Fujifilm X-Series, Leica M, or Sony Alpha bodies missing their original rings.
What's included, and does it protect my camera from scratches?
Each set includes 2 adapters plus 2 protective cap covers (O-rings/bumpers) that keep the metal rings from rubbing against your camera body.
Does it work with binoculars too?
Yes — it's a universal fit for both cameras and binoculars with narrow attachment points.
Quick-Link Adapters
What's included in this set?
2 Quick-Link Slide Connectors, 4 Quick-Link Paracord Pulls for connecting between two camera bodies, and 4 Split-Ring Adapters for camera bodies with very small eyelets the paracord can't thread through — enough hardware for 2 camera bodies.
How strong and how big is it?
Each adapter is rated to 30 kgf (about 66 lb) per manufacturer testing, while staying just 8.5 cm long and 2.25 cm wide. It includes a 1 cm opening sized for Wildtree straps and a wider 1.8 cm opening for broader strap compatibility.
How does the quick-disconnect work?
The quick-link system lets you pop your strap in and out in seconds with no re-threading required, and its low profile slides into tight bag pockets without snagging.
What makes these adapters different from others on the market?
Our Quick-Link Adapters are lower profile than similar adapters on the market, so they blend into the slimmer sections of your strap instead of standing out at the connection between your strap and camera body. Each set also includes 4 Triangle Split Ring Adapters — more than most competitors include — for broader camera compatibility. They're competitively priced too, often around half the cost of similar adapters elsewhere.
Orders, Shipping & Returns
Shipping policy
Our Commitment to Minimalist Shipping "We believe the best part of your order is what’s inside the package, not the packaging itself. To stay true to our mission of protecting the spaces we love, we have intentionally moved away from 'excessive' unboxing experiences.
By shipping minimally—using small poly mailers, omitting physical invoices, and reducing individual product wrap—we significantly lower our carbon footprint and unnecessary waste. Our packages may not be a 'theatrical experience,' but they are effective, lightweight, and kinder to the environment."
Order Processing: We do our best to get your items in your hands as soon as possible. Your order will typically ship within 24 hours but can take up to 3 business days. Depending on where you live, the arrival of your product can vary.
International Orders: When you place an order, you will receive estimated shipping and delivery dates based on the weight of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on your chosen shipping provider, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
Common problems we encounter:
Customers enter the wrong address: This is a bummer for everyone so please double-check your address. Your order is likely to get returned to us if the incorrect address is entered at checkout. Wildtree is not responsible for reshipment charges. If your order is not returned and lost due to an address error we are not responsible for replacing your order.
Your package doesn't arrive in the time specified on the website: USPS is our primary shipping carrier. Besides Priority Mail Express (refunded if a claim is accepted by USPS), USPS does not guarantee their shipping dates and we cannot guarantee them either. We print and ship orders in-house every Monday–Friday and typically get packages sent out in under 24 hours.
Your package was lost or stolen: Every order we ship out is covered by a third-party insurance. In the event, your package is lost or stolen contact us at hello@wildtreeoutdoor.com.
USPS shows your package as delivered, but you haven't received it: If USPS tracking confirms delivery to the address provided at checkout, we treat that scan as proof of delivery. In this situation, we're happy to send a replacement at no additional cost rather than issue a refund. Before reaching out, please: check with neighbors and other household members, look around porches, mailboxes, and side doors, and verify the shipping address on your order confirmation. If the package still can't be located after 3 business days, contact us at hello@wildtreeoutdoor.com with your order number and we'll get a replacement sent out. In some cases, our shipping insurance provider requires a signed affidavit confirming non-receipt before a claim can be filed; if this applies to your order, we'll send you a secure link to sign it digitally, and we won't be able to process a replacement until it's been signed. Replacement decisions are made at our discretion on a case-by-case basis.
ORDER TRACKING
Tracking numbers are provided for all orders. For an up-to-date status of your order, you can enter the tracking number that we have provided in your account through the USPS Website.
IMPORT TAXES, VAT, AND CUSTOMS DUTIES
We ship worldwide using Shopify's automated global checkout platform. Depending on your destination and current local regulations, Shopify’s system will automatically determine whether or not to calculate and collect import fees at checkout:
- If Shopify's system automatically includes fees, taxes, or VAT at checkout: Your order is processed as Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). These automated import fees are collected upfront, and you should not be charged extra delivery fees upon arrival.
- If Shopify's system does not include fees, taxes, or VAT at checkout: Your order is processed as Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU). Any local customs duties, VAT, or carrier processing fees determined by your destination country are entirely the responsibility of the recipient and must be paid to receive your package.
Wildtree Outdoor LLC relies entirely on Shopify's automated tax and duty calculations and is not liable for any system errors, omissions, or unexpected local customs fees. If an international package is refused and returned to us due to unpaid local customs fees, your refund will be issued minus the original shipping cost, any return shipping charges, and our standard 10% restocking fee.
FREE SHIPPING
Free US shipping on orders over $30. All other orders under $30 will be charged standard shipping rates at checkout.
Return and Refund Policy
We have a 30-day Return/Exchange policy. This means you have 30 days after the date of delivery to request a return. Once your return is accepted, you have 14 days to ship it out. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it: unworn, unused, unwashed, and in its original packaging.
How to Start a Return: To start a return, you can contact us at Hello@wildtreeoutdoor.com or request a return through your Wildtree account. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Damages and Issues: Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us within 72 hours if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect. To initiate a claim, you must provide clear photographic evidence. We do not issue "instant refunds" for defects. At our discretion, we will either:
- Send a replacement: If you still want the item, we will ship a replacement once the defect is verified via photo.
- Require a return for inspection: If a refund is requested instead of a replacement, the item must be returned to us for inspection before a refund is approved.
If an item is returned as 'defective' but is found to be in standard condition upon inspection, the return will be processed as a Standard Return; in this case, a 10% restocking fee and all shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.
Please note: Items that show signs of intentional damage, improper use, or clear signs of wear do not qualify for a refund. In such cases, the return will be denied, no refund will be issued, and the item can be shipped back to the customer at their expense.
Non-Returnable & Final Sale Items: Certain items are not eligible for return or exchange:
- Gift Cards: All gift card purchases are Final Sale and cannot be refunded or redeemed for cash, except where required by law.
- Sale Items: Items marked as "Final Sale" or purchased during a clearance event are non-returnable.
Exchanges: The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to request an exchange for your eligible camera gear or accessories. Once the exchange is accepted, place a separate order for the new item. We will ship your new order ASAP and refund your first order once we receive the original item back in its original condition. We do not charge a restocking fee on exchanges.
Refunds: We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
Shipping & Fees: Unless your item was received damaged, defective, or incorrect due to our error, you will be responsible for paying the shipping costs to return your item and a 10% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund total. If we provide a return shipping label, the cost of that label will be deducted from your refund. For all standard returns, original shipping costs are non-refundable. Full refunds (including original shipping) are only issued in instances where the return is a result of our error or a confirmed defective product. For products returned that were claimed to be damaged or incorrect but are found to be in standard condition upon inspection, Wildtree will deduct the return shipping costs and the 10% restocking fee from the total refund.
International & Undeliverable Orders: Orders returned by the postal service due to unpaid customs duties/VAT, incorrect address, not picked up from mail service, or not due to our error will be refunded for only the cost of the product minus a 10% restocking fee. Any return freight charges or brokerage fees billed to Wildtree by the carrier for refused international packages will also be deducted from the refund. Wildtree is not responsible for packages lost due to an incorrect address.
Extended Holiday Return Period
We are happy to offer an extended return period for the holiday season. For any order placed on or after November 1st, the deadline for submitting a return request is extended until January 7th.
Clarification on Return Submission: You are always guaranteed the standard 30-day window to submit a return request from your date of delivery. If your standard 30-day window falls after January 7th (e.g., for orders placed mid-December or later), your return request deadline will be the standard 30 days from the date of delivery.
Important: For return requests submitted after the standard 30 days but before the final January 7th deadline, you must Contact Us Directly to initiate the return. Our system's automated self-service return function is disabled after 30 days and will not work. To initiate a manual return request, please email us at Hello@wildtreeoutdoor.com.
